Restoring Iraq’s history: Thousands of stolen artifacts back on display

War and neglect have taken on Iraq’s archaeological sites.

A museum in the southern city of Basra was shut after the Gulf War in 1991.

In 2016, its collections were rehoused in a palace that belonged to former leader Saddam Hussein.
